Abstract
So far, many spatio-temporal data models have been proposed in GIS and database domain, but only a few of them can be actually implemented in Cadastral Information System. In order to maintain the cadastral spatio-temporal data and make them accessible to users, many efforts have been made by academic and user communities to develop cadastral spatiotemporal data model. In this paper, we propose a cadastral spatio-temporal data model by extending space-time composite model. In this model, we distinguish the current database and the history database to store and manage the current cadastral objects and the history cadastral objects. Separate storage and management of cadastral objects is effective in improving the efficiency of query. In addition, table structures are defined based on the object-relational database. Because of recording the event type and valid time of land change, this model can query land parcels´ historic data and the reasons of land change. The model can also be implemented on object-relational database or extending static GIS database. In the end, a Spatio-temporal Cadastral Information System is developed for the implementation of the proposed data model on current GIS software environment. The experimental results show that the spatio-temporal data model is able to store, query and represent cadastral objects changes successfully.
