Abstract :
Non-crosstalk ultrasonic ranging systems excited using sinusoidal signals are addressed. On the basis of the hardware platform built previously, binary pseudorandom sinusoidal excitation (BPSE) sequences are proposed for a single ultrasonic ranging system in which multi-channel transducers are included. Three different binary pseudorandom sequences, i.e., binary chaotic sequence, m sequence and Gold sequence, are used to modulate sinusoidal signals. Correlation characteristic analysis shows that the three BPSE sequences could be used for eight-channel non-crosstalk ultrasonic ranging systems. Preliminary distance-measurement experiments using SensComp 600 series electrostatic transducers validate the proposed method.
