Abstract :
Summary form only given. A study of fiber grating behavior under post uniform UV trimming is presented. It is found that post uniform UV trimming can greatly increase the index modulation depth of written fiber gratings. A novel fiber grating writing technique based on a two steps UV exposure method is developed, that can provide a method of adjustment of both reflectivity and peak wavelength.
