Abstract :
Summary form only given. A high brightness femtosecond X-ray pulse can be obtained by the laser Compton scattering process. In our plan, a 1 ps single electron bunch, which is generated from an RF photocathode and accelerated by a Microtron accelerator, is collided with a 100 fs high power laser pulse. One of the key technologies of this X-ray pulse generation technique is the synchronization of the laser pulses with the electron bunches. Therefore, it is extremely important to manage the shot-to-shot timing fluctuation in femtosecond optical pulse sources.Recently, we proposed a new method of shot-to-shot timing error measurement for low-repetition rate high-energy ultrafast pulses by means of the spectral-resolved cross-correlation technique, and applied the method to a conventional kHz Ti:sapphire regenerative amplifier. In this report, we demonstrate the active stabilization of amplified pulse timing for a kHz regenerative amplifier based on our monitoring method.
