Abstract :
This paper presents a simple integrated switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive with bridgeless PFC converter. The converter topology of integrated SRM drive can achieve both driving function and battery charging function in the EV application. In the driving mode, the proposed SRM drive operates as an asymmetric converter. In the charging mode, the input line from the grid directly is connected to two phases, and the phase windings are used as boost inductance. So, a bridgeless boost converter is rebuild by two phases asymmetric converter to satisfy the power quality requirement. Furthermore, the other winding is constructed to be a buck-boost converter to implement battery charging. The operation modes are introduced in detail. Due to the asymmetric phase current flow in each phase winding, the rotor can not be held in standstill. A mechanical method is used to fixed the rotor at a special position. The control strategy of the proposed system is presented. Some simulation results are done to verify the performance of proposed converters.
