Abstract :
Effect of oxygen (O2) plasma treatment of mesoporous TiO2 photoelectrodes on the performance of dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) is presented. DSSCs fabricated with O2 plasma treated and untreated (Reference) photoelectrodes were characterized. It was observed that O2 plasma treatment and the duration of treatment play an important role on dark and illuminated current-voltage (I-V) characteristics, where a 15 min plasma treated mesoporous TiO2 resulted in lower dark saturation current density compared with the reference DSSC and improved short circuit current density (JSC) and open circuit voltage (VOC) of the DSSCs.
