Abstract :
An adaptive reflector antenna array requires a means of control to adjust the antenna pattern to the needs of the system. A geometry for an adaptive reflector array is described, and a means for control is investigated. A control algorithm is considered to minimize the adaptation convergence time. The algorithm is borrowed from the simplex method of linear programming. It is shown that the algorithm is efficient and optimal for two design cases: maximizing the gain to a fixed target; and, rejecting a single point noise source. The paper concludes with some remarks on applications to wireless LANs
