Abstract :
The METEORLINK meteor burst computer program has been used to predict forward scatter measurements performed in Greenland by the Phillips Laboratory. These measurements were recorded on meteor burst links operated from Sondrestrom AFB to Thule AFB (1200 km) and separately from Sondrestrom AFB to Narsarsuaq, Greenland (700 km). METEORLINK predictions were compared with the corresponding measurements at frequencies of 45, 65, 85, and 104 MHz. Horizontal, vertical, and cross-polarized transmit-receive antenna polarization patterns were employed. Prediction and measurement techniques are summarized and comparison results are presented
