Abstract :
This paper deals with the types, selection and processing of insulation materials for polymeric cables in the voltage range, 66 to 500 kV. Cables in this voltage class require insulations which provide: physical integrity, dimensional integrity, and electrical integrity. The influence of these requirements on the selection of polymeric insulations (LDPE, HDPE, EPR, XLPE) are discussed
