Abstract
This paper presents a recent and planned deployments of a suite of innovative, low-impact grid technologies, based on the advanced materials, to improve reliability, enhance power transfers and more fully capture the value of existing sources of generation. This paper also presents on how the market forces present in today\´s evolving, hybrid marketplace may be harnessed to drive investment in such technologies. Case study examples will show how such "second wave" grid investments can be highly profitable despite, or even because of, the adverse industry climate.
