Abstract :
The Physical bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) models are usually very complex and difficult to invert. In this paper, an inverse analysis based on particle swarm optimization algorithm is developed to estimate the unknown parameters of BRDF from a fractal surface. A comparison of the particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm and the Genetic Algorithm (GA) is also are carried out to implement the optimization process of the inverse analysis. Computational results show that the PSO algorithm consumes less time and reaches better modeling accuracy.
