Abstract :
The CCSDS data protocol has greatly enhanced the capability of space data systems to handle increasing demands for more data types, more diversified services, and greater data volumes. On the other hand, the complex and sophisticated CCSDS protocol also poses new challenges to spacecraft developers, as the layered architecture of CCSDS increases the complexity of space data systems, in turn increasing the complexity of the necessary test tools. This paper describes the architecture and capabilities of a commercial off the shelf system for spacecraft integration and testing. Using high-performance reconfigurable computing technologies, the system supports high performance and high fidelity CCSDS protocol simulation, processing, verification, and validation. Sophisticated error insertion and triggering functions are provided. Combined with software for generating simulated telemetry data streams and a user-friendly system management environment, this COTS system provides a robust suite of tools for high fidelity spacecraft system and subsystem integration and test
