Abstract
This paper presents a design of wireless network system based on Zigbee for monitoring the formaldehyde level. The system consists of coordinator, router and sensor nodes, in which signals are mainly controlled, transmitted and received by Chipcon´s leading SoC chip CC2430. The communication in the network is realized by Texas Instruments´ Z-stack, which is compatible with Zigbee specification. Compared with the traditional methods, this system can work continuously in the monitored area because of its power saving and low complexity characteristics in the hardware design. And the network can be placed easily and flexibly, this not only conveniences the user with no wiring work, but also avoids the potential damage in the monitored area. The data provided by this system will be more accurate and reliable since the data are acquired from several different spots in the area.
