Abstract :
Opportunities for time savings, improved product quality, production efficiencies and manufacturing economies in the assembly of small components, metals, ceramics, glass, paper, plastics or other materials are examined. The casting-related process described can be used on either a semiautomatic or fully automatic basis, and the machine may be integrated into the automated production line where it can eliminate several manufacturing steps. The injected metal assembly (IMA) process lends itself to the automated production line because components can be fed from a combination of vibratory feeders, hoppers, magazines and reels of wire stock
