Abstract :
The authors identify a meteor burst solution to the inherent problems with present mobile communications (HF, VHF, UHF, and satellite). Solutions are presented to meteor burst system design problems, which were verified by experimental results. The design utilizes a combination of diverse master station antenna array systems, specialized vehicle antennas, software protocols, coding, and networking techniques. The potential improvements that may be obtained by using advanced meteor burst technologies are reviewed
