Abstract :
In this paper, we propose MMSE sense optimal approaches for single user code acquisition in the CDMA communication system. It is assumed that the desired downlink user sends the training sequence, which is utilized in the code acquisition in the uplink. The methods are based on quite similar optimization criteria as that of the interference suppressing MMSE demodulator. Using the training signal, the performance can be greatly improved without increasing computational complexity. Simulations show that the methods outperform, e.g. CMOE method, maximum likelihood method, eigenvector-based MUSIC, and matched filter
