Abstract :
The authors discuss operations, administration and maintenance (OAM) functions for the integrated services digital network (ISDN). The concept and architectural components of a telecommunications management network (TMN) are described in the context of ISDN. Functions and issues associated with the mapping of information and OAM functions across an exchange from the ISDN access to the TMN OAM interface are presented. Open standards issues relevant to the ISDN and TMN relationship are identified
