Abstract
The author addresses the architecture of the intelligent network (IN) based on the Signaling System #7 (SS7) network. He proposes and defines a system architecture design of the intelligent network based on the implementation of the SS7 network with the conventional service control points. (SCPs). This results in less likelihood of failure and more effective introduction of new services. The performance measurements of the IN which are needed to ensure reliability and survivability are discussed
