Abstract
The plant growth information should be extracted and reconstructed in order to dynamically simulate plant development on computer. Taking the tree as a experiment object, it could convert the video images including plant growth information to some key frames, and extract the features in relation to plant topologic structure and organ morphology. Additionally, this paper introduces a branch mosaic algorithm to reconstruct the plant topology change process. After reconstruction of the plant growth process under the developing tool of 3DMAX, it illustrates that the proposed method is feasible and valuable for constructing the digital model of plant growth, which also demonstrates that it could simulate the process of plant development and its morphology.
