  • Abstract
    A multitude of winding tests exists to ensure the quality of electrical windings. New detection methods and digital analysis are very useful in the detection of incipient faults in small and large windings, in motors, generators, coils, and transformers. The following automate digital winding test analysis methods are discussed: amplitude tolerance band; ringing frequency examination; error area ratio evaluation; differential error area evaluation; and corona evaluation. The analysis methods can be used individually or in any combination according to the specific needs. Sensitivity can be adjusted by setting certain evaluation criteria and ranges
