Abstract :
A new topology has been developed that provides a simple yet effective way to get ringing voltage from a low voltage source. The ringing voltage requirement is for high AC voltage at low frequencies. With this topology, most of the power processing is done at high frequencies, resulting in high efficiency and small size. The low frequency output waveform is inherently sinusoidal and the frequency is derived from a crystal controlled source. The theory of operation of the topology and some of the tradeoffs that go into its implementation are discussed
