Abstract :
During the process of urbanization, the regional characteristics of rural areas have suffered unprecedented destruction. Protecting rural regional culture and building cultural villages is not only an important part of new rural construction, but also the developing orientation of urban and rural planning studies. This paper, by focusing on the elements of context and taking Shangqing Township in Anxi County as an example, established an evaluation index system of rural context construction. We spatialized rural context elements and used the GIS modeling technology to gain the rural land suitability partition. Then on the basis of the result, we divided rural lands into four types: the suitable construction areas, the less suitable construction areas, the limited construction areas and no-construction areas. Finally, the space planning scheme came into being. This case, which has carried out a systematic study of context elements and adapted the special space analysis technique of GIS modeling technology, offers us a good idea for rural geographical and cultural protection and urban space management planning.
