  • Abstract
Unbalance compensation by means of removing material from the rotor is very popular in the electric motor industry when considerations are made for high production requirements, relatively small balancing tolerances, and high speed motor applications. Steps have been taken by motor manufacturers to lower tolerances in the manufacturing process in order to improve product quality. Depending on the type of balance correction by metal removal, various systems are available to meet a range of production requirements and achieve smaller balance tolerances for specific applications. These include balancing systems using contour mill correction and balancing systems using "V" nulling (component correction)
