Abstract :
A four-quadrant controller of 5kW switched reluctance motor drives for electric vehicle (EV) is presented in this paper. Considering the characteristics of electric vehicle, this paper ascertains the control strategy of SRM four-quadrant operation for EV. According to the control schemes of switched reluctance motor drives, an integrated scheme is designed. A high-performance fully digital sliding mode-PI controller is presented in this paper based on DSP and CPLD. Experimental results demonstrate that four-quadrant operating of SRM drives for EV has excellent performance.
