Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to study the performance of a-Si PV systems with different azimuth and inclination angle arrangements in Taiwan (latitude 24.78° N). In the study, two of the PV systems are installed due south and the other two systems due east, and their module inclination angles are 10° and 80°, respectively. The system performance are evaluated and compared among these PV systems in 2008. The results show that both the final yields and performance ratio of the PV systems with 80° inclination angle are worse than that of the systems with 10°. The 80°-inclined PV systems are about 0.5 times the final yields of the 10°-inclined systems. The performance ratios of 80°-inclined systems are about 17.56% lower compared to 10°-inclined systems. In present case, the effect of azimuth is not noticeable.
