Abstract :
A new calculable cross capacitor is being constructed at NML as part of a new impedance standard. Imperfections in geometry, close approach nonlinearity, gaps between bars and interferometric length measurement are expected to contribute less than 5 nF/F to the uncertainty of the new standard. A second, identical capacitor is also under construction and will be installed at the BIPM
