Abstract :
In order to improve primary pressure standards at NIST we have measured the dielectric permittivity ratio of argon to helium epsiv Ar/epsivHe using two cross capacitors that were operated side by side in a thermostatted bath (plusmn0.002 K) over a temperature range (273-323) K and over a pressure range (0-6) MPa. For these measurements we have used both an 8-ring toroidal cross capacitor and a 64-rod linear array cross capacitor in pressure chambers separated by a sensitive differential pressure cell
