Abstract
For the sake of using the energy more effectively in wireless sensor networks, an arithmetic based on energy prediction clustering hierarchy (EPCH) was proposed. In EPCH, the cluster-head node could predict the energy information of each node accurately by the energy packets sent from other nodes. Depending on the energy prediction, the selection of next new cluster-head node was determined. The experiment simulated the behavior of sensor nodes in terms of energy consumption using the arithmetic we have proposed. We analyzed the performance of EPCH, and compared it with other cluster-based arithmetic where there is no energy prediction used. Simulation results show that EPCH outperform them in balancing the energy consumption and prolonging the lifetime of wireless sensor networks.
