Coherent population trapping (CPT) resonances on degenerate two-level system of D1 line of 87Rb were investigated with single frequency laser excitation. Their sensitivity on stray magnetic fields was examined for linear, elliptical and circular laser polarization. Methodology for magnetic field measurement using the CPT resonance is proposed
