Abstract
A multimyoelectric channel model, based on muscle physiology, is proposed for myoelectric control. The model performance analysis and simulation show that the multimyoelectric channel has a higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) than the conventional myoelectric channel. For the case of the same unit number and the same mean firing rates in groups, the multichannel SNR improvement factor over the single conventional channel is equal to the number of uncorrelated channels.<>
