Abstract :
In this paper, we present a bio-inspired model for detecting edges based on mathematic analysis of artificial retina response. And then mathematical analysis as well as computational design methods on the proposed retina model are dealt with. The characteristics of our model is that it just concerns four types of cells rather than traditional ones with five types of cells. Experimental results show that the proposed model based on retina neural mechanism for edge detection is efficient.
