Abstract
This paper investigates a FPGA design of fault - tolerant current-control (FTCC) algorithm for three-phase inverter-fed electric drives. The focus of the proposed method is on the identification of the faulty-current sensor in AC machines drives, and the actual reconfiguration between two control-sampling times. The developed FTCC is simple, and can be readily incorporated into existing drive applications with relatively minor effort and cost. FPGA design ensures very fast execution time of the algorithm which allows a safety continuous working of the faulty system. Simulations and experimental results are presented to emphasize the effectiveness of the method.
