Abstract :
Due to its simplicity and low manufacturing costs, the Lundell or claw-pole alternator resists in competition as an electromechanical source of the electrical energy m vehicles. Lundell alternators are today built in a power range up to 5 kW and in a speed range up to 18000 rpm. A new 42 V power management system was proposed. It consists of the conventional power management system at which, between the passive rectifier and the load (consisting of the lead-acid battery and a resistive consumer) a switched-mode rectifier (consisting of a diode D and a MOSFET transistor T) was included.
