Abstract
This work addresses the design of a radar vehicle detector based on a DSP processor, the TMS320VC5402. Different from conventional radar vehicle detectors which could only measure speed or distance separately, this detector combines radar of two designations: continual wave (CW) radar and linear frequency modulated continuous wave (LFMCW) radar and has advantages of both CW in speed measurement and LFMCW in distance measurement. And the result of experiments prove that the accuracy of measurement of traffic, and the speed of vehicles by this detector is up to 95% and it is very suitable for intelligent transportation management systems.
