Abstract :
Image quality assessment method is a hot issue that aims to give an objective assessment value that in line with the human´s subject perception or certain demand of applications. This paper summarized and compared several quality assessment methods that have been widely used in astronomical optical images, including Strehl Ratio, FWHM, Spectral ratio, RMS, Fisher information, entropy function and neural network. To date, there isn´t one uniform quality assessment method for all kind of astronomical optical images. In astronomical image quality assessment field, researchers must find out a certain suitable assessment method for a certain kind of astronomical images.
