Abstract :
An important research topic is the spectral-molecular interaction between atmosphere gases and bio-environments. For this purpose, it is necessary to know the radiation spectrum structure of atmospheric gases over the terahertz frequency range (100 GHz to 10 THz). A quasioptical programmable EHF (extremely high-frequency) generator that operates over the terahertz frequency range of the molecular spectra of atmospheric air gases has been developed. Besides applications in the research of interactions between THz-waves and biological environments, the developed generator can be used for developing various radar and communication systems, for studying the propagation laws of THz-waves of various types, as well as the polarization and structures of spectra of the Earth\´s atmosphere, and for determining absorption bands and "windows of transparency" caused by the presence of various gases in the atmosphere and other environments.
