Abstract

As legacy of history, the discovery of Phags-Pa script and its literature show that people had recorded Mongolian, Chinese, Sanskrit, Tibetan, Turkic and many other nationalities´ languages with Phags-Pa scripts. The international standard Unicode for Phags-Pa scripts was established in 2005. This article mainly presents the information processing system for Phags-Pa scripts, which is based on the standard Unicode encoding for them. It involves the design and construction of Unicode TrueType font for Phags-Pa scripts in Windows platform, and the implementation of two input methods for typing in Phags-Pa script text in the basis of IMM / IME. In addition, it also demonstrates a recently discovered Solon gold token to show the style and application of using Phags-Pa scripts.
