Abstract
Optical absorption and photoconductivity in ReS2 single crystals were investigated in the temperature range 80-300 K. For the first time, the direct energy gap Egdir=1.55 eV (BOK) and its temperature dependence were determined. From the absorption spectrum shape in the indirect optical transition region (E gind=1.27 eV, 300 K) an optical phonon energy value of 0.06 eV was estimated
