  • Abstract
    The one-stage autotransformer (AT) is a device on which two terminals of the equivalent quadripole are short circuited. The advantage of an AT in comparison with a stepped taper is the possibility to get broadband matching with simultaneous preservation of the overall dimensions. It is known also, that a similar result is achieved by using nonuniform lines instead of uniform ones. Our purpose is to build a mathematical model of an impedance autotransformers based on nonuniform transmission lines and to investigate its properties. Impedance autotransformers based on canonical nonuniform transmission lines are considered. Their advantages over autotransformers based on uniform transmission lines (UTL) in overall dimensions/broadbandness are shown.
