Abstract :
We propose a double-ring resonators (DRR) Mach-Zehnder (M-Z) interferometer for highly sensitive temperature sensing. We theoretically calculate the sensitivity of the configuration as a temperature sensor. The sensitivity of our configuration can achieve 481.24/°C, which is enhanced by 140/°C compared to that of single-ring resonator (SRR) M-Z interferometer. Furthermore, we discuss the relationship between the sensitivity and the temperature detection range of the proposed interferometer. This proposed structure enables highly sensitive, compact and stable temperature sensors.
