Abstract :
Since privatisation there have been increasing demands from both customers and the Regulator for Regional Electricity companies to improve the reliability of their electricity distribution networks. The challenge facing distribution network managers, is to develop strategies and practices which not only improve customer service but minimise operating costs and maximise return on investment. This paper considers the issues involved and an approach which addresses what at first sight appear to be conflicting financial and customer service objectives
