Abstract :
A broadband optical splitter based on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) is proposed for uniform beam power splitting in the wavelength from 1450 nm to 1650 nm, which has low wavelength dependence of less than 0.2dB in the arrange of about 100 nm. The novel types of splitters are predicted to have a great potential in the field of broadband light circuits for wavelength-divided multiplexing (WDM).
