Abstract :
Deformable templates for tracking the motions of the facial components are proposed. Using simple functions the proposed template interpolates the motions while the conventional templates interpolate the shapes. The initial shapes of the proposed templates are fitted to the intricated shapes of the real facial components. The templates are flexible enough to track the deformations of the facial components by changing a few parameter values of the simple interpolation functions
