Abstract :
In this paper, a reliable and cost-effective scheme for reconfiguration of the distribution system has been designed to handle the multi-objective problem of re-configuration. The objectives considered are service restoration and load balancing. Mathematical programming approach has been utilized for the reconfiguration considering cost effective scheme under contingencies. The scheme has been tested on a 32-bus radial distribution system under different contingencies. Electric distribution system under fault requires an effective scheme to ensure quick service restoration and load balancing during contingencies. The reliability of the integrated reconfiguration scheme for performing service restoration and load balancing on a stressed distribution system with optimal cost is considered. Potential benefits and costs were estimated for the reconfigured system. The integrated scheme comprising the reconfigured reliability system has been tested for the cost-benefit analysis on a benchmark 32-bus radial distribution system in order to demonstrate the capability of the scheme. Different cases were studied and the corresponding cost benefit analysis for variation in faulted scenarios as well as variation in loading levels are presented.
