Abstract :
This paper deals with the analysis of digital IIR filters with maximum usable bandwidth. These filters are useful for rejecting narrow band clutter in radar applications. Zero frequency initialisation is used as a pre-design technique to achieve good clutter rejection capability while operating in the transient. The analysis covered the variation in the cut-off frequency of the filter caused by changing the number of samples. The effect of processing a number of samples other than the one the filter is designed for is also, covered. First and second order filters with numbers of samples up to 20 are investigated
