Abstract :
The analysis of considerable power quality problems in a distribution network is presented in this article. The problems with load unbalance and the resulting overload in the neutral wire are illustrated by on-site measurements. The inherent structure theory of networks is applied to expose possible risks for reliable system operation involving eigenvalue analysis of the system admittance matrix. This method allows for the system´s nodes sensitivity detection to the low frequency conducted disturbances. The approach is then discussed considering its applicability to solve important power quality problems within the presented distribution network. Advisory comments regarding power quality aspects in a distribution system are given.
