Abstract :
In home networks, the device collaboration service has challenging issues to provide QoS (Quality of Service) for its users with heterogeneous consumer electronic devices. However, existing schemes do not guarantee quality of multimedia contents. To cope with these problems, this paper presents a simple but effective media quality control scheme that can improve quality of collaborative streaming-based media contents. The proposed scheme controls collaboration contents according to the number of available collaboration devices at home and media quality based on available network bandwidth. The experimental result shows that the proposed scheme can significantly improve user-perceived quality.
