Abstract :
The base of a quartz crystal tuning fork has usually been taken into no consideration in the analysis of frequency by the bar model. The right half section of a quartz crystal tuning fork was approximated to an L-shaped bar and then analyzed its frequency by Sezawa´s theory with the effect of its base taken into account. A comparison was made of frequencies calculated by this theory with those by the conventional cantilever model, and the influence of the width of the base on frequency is discussed
