Abstract :
In this paper, a simple planar meander-line antenna is purposed, for RFID application at microwave band. The antenna is designed to fit within the front face of a biopsy cassette and is fabricated by using RO-3006 dielectric substrate with permittivity 6.15. Momentum ADS software is used for simulation design process. The antenna has been tested with the Vector Network Analyzer and the resonance frequency was measured at 5.3 GHz with a meander of 5 1/2 turns. The best return loss for the antenna is -24 dB (measured) with a gain of 2.01 dBi.
