Abstract :
Summary form only given. Here we show by calculations that matching of the group velocities in AgGaS/sub 2/ (AGS) and HgGa/sub 2/S/sub 4/ (HGS) can be achieved in a /spl lambda//sub p/ = 1.25 /spl mu/m pumped optical parametric amplifier (OPA) using noncollinear propagation. We verify this experimentally by using a fs Cr: forsterite regenerative amplifier as a pump source.
